Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
Guidelight is committed to making our platform usable by as many people as possible, including students, teachers, and administrators with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.
What we have done
- Keyboard navigation support throughout the teacher and student dashboards
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- Semantic HTML landmarks, headings, and labels
- Screen-reader announcements for errors, timers, and status messages
- Colour contrast that meets AA requirements in both light and dark themes
- Accessible dialog and form components using tested open-source primitives
Known limitations
Some third-party content uploaded by teachers (PDFs, images, audio) may not be fully accessible. We rely on teachers to provide accessible materials where possible. Some advanced visualisations and the 3D landing scene are decorative and do not block access to core features.
To protect the integrity of homework and assessments, timed tasks and reading-speed activities disable copy, paste, cut and context-menu actions across the page. This can make those tasks harder to complete for some assistive-technology users. If a student needs an accessible alternative, their teacher can contact us at support@getguidelight.com.
Feedback and help
If you experience any accessibility barriers, or need content in a different format, please contact us at support@getguidelight.com. We will respond as soon as we can and aim to fix issues promptly.
